Centinel - The Centinel of the North-Western Territory published by William Maxwell in Cincinnati between 1793 and 1796, was the first newspaper printed north of the Ohio River. These advertisements are from the issued dated Saturday, October 25, 1794.

Land Deed - This is a facsimile of an actual deed dated July 2, 1792 for land sold to Amos Porter of Allegheny County, PA by the Ohio Company. Documents such as this are archived at the Ohio Historical Society.

Arnold Snider Letter - This is a 1813 letter written by Arnold Snider to his wife Hannah while he belonged to the Ohio Militia and was stationed at Fort Meigs during the War of 1812. By preserving letters such as this one, one can discover first person accounts of times long past.

Journal of John Watson. - Journals such as this one by John Watson gave regular accounts of daily activities. The pages reproduced here are dated May 20, 1811 and give his account of his travels through southwestern Ohio.
