Case Histories > Life at Fort Meigs

This case history reflects life at Fort Meigs at the time of the War of 1812. Using reproductions of original artifacts and documents from the Ohio Historical Society collections, students will learn of the challenges and experiences of the military men who lived in and fought to defend the fort. Guided by Ohio's Social Studies Academic Content Standards, this case provides a curriculum guide and many hands-on activities designed to enhance an understanding of life at Fort Meigs. This case is adaptable students 4th grade and up. This case is available for a two-week period and the shipping weight is 48 pounds. The Schmidt Family Foundation provided funding for the creation of this kit.
