Primary Sources > Using Primary Sources
Whether it's a diary entry, historic photograph, 19th century quilt, period-style
garden, or an oral history of a World War II veteran, the Ohio Historical Society's primary sources
are some of the best ways to supplement the study of the past.
Many of the Society's primary sources are available to the teacher through its publications,
educational products, field trips to its historic sites, and research through its on-line resources.
But, what are the best ways to use these primary sources in the classroom?
The Society's Education staff has assembled a variety of useful information and materials, as well as
suggested classroom activities, to assist the teacher in making the best use of the rich resources in
the Society's collections.
