Armstrong Air & Space Museum

Named in honor of the first person to step on the moon, the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum is located in the astronaut's hometown of Wapakoneta. The museum celebrates Ohio's flight pioneers from the balloon era to the space program.

Strikingly modern exhibits include the Gemini VIII spacecraft that was flown by Armstrong and David Scott in 1966; an F5D Skylancer once piloted by Armstrong; a moon rock; space suits; and space shuttle simulators. The Infinity Room, which leads to a theater offering multimedia presentations, gives visitors a sense of the vastness of space.

Facilities Information
Chaperones: One or two chaperons per classroom is recommended. Children do not need to be assigned in small groups to an adult; the group stays together in the same area of the museum unless the teacher has specific activities planned for students after the tour. If you are canceling your visit, refer to your tour confirmation for procedure.
There are a limited number of picnic tables on site, available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The entire museum is wheelchair accessible although only 6-8 wheelchairs can be placed in the theater at one time.
