Named in honor of the first person to step on the moon, the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum is
located in the astronaut's hometown of Wapakoneta. The museum celebrates Ohio's flight pioneers from
the balloon era to the space program.
Strikingly modern exhibits include the Gemini VIII spacecraft that was flown by Armstrong and David
Scott in 1966; an F5D Skylancer once piloted by Armstrong; a moon rock; space suits; and space shuttle
simulators. The Infinity Room, which leads to a theater offering multimedia presentations, gives
visitors a sense of the vastness of space.
