Museum of Ceramics

East Liverpool's early settlers discovered a land rich in natural clay and coal. Those abundant resources, together with a conveniently located river, made East Liverpool the perfect place to begin a pottery industry. By the late-19th century, East Liverpool had become the largest pottery center in the nation.

Students who visit the museum of Ceramics learn about the economic and social history of the state by examining this important industry. Exhibits tell the story of the pottery industry and the pioneers who developed it.
