Self-guided Tour: Kilroy Was Here! (Year-round)
( 60 k)
Kilroy Was Here! brings to life one of the most pivotal decades of the
20th century by acknowledging the great sacrifices Ohioans and all
Americans made as a result of World War II. It also takes a look at the
lighter aspects of life during the 1940s, including the story behind the
character, Kilroy, whose long nose and the phrase "Kilroy Was Here" was
a popular graffiti mark left by World War II soldiers. The exhibit
allows visitors to reflect on the profound changes that occurred in
American culture, and on the great personal sacrifices Ohioans and all
Americans made, as a result of our involvement in W.W.II. Groups of 50
or more will be staggered.
