Program: Hands to Work (School Year) (395 k)
During this program students will participate in hands-on activities as they tour select buildings in Zoar Village. They will learn about work in the 19th century and study the occupations of the industrious separatists of Zoar, whose religious communal society became prosperous. Students will learn about the governing concepts of Zoar, such as separatism and communal living. Discussions about three basic human needs - food, shelter, and clothing - will help students gain a greater understanding of 19th century living.
