A visit to Flint Ridge State Memorial is a trip to a site that most likely has seen
human activity as long as people have been in Ohio. The flint of Flint Ridge was well known
in the ancient world for evidence of small amounts of it have been found across present day
eastern United States at American Indian sites. Because of this flint's great beauty, it
has been respected and used throughout the ages as tools, weapons, and ceremonial objects of
the native cultures and in modern times in the production of jewelry.
