The Harding home and tomb are memorials to former president Warren Gamaliel Harding and his wife
Florence Kling Harding. The house was built for the Hardings during their engagement, and they married
there in 1891. The couple lived at the Marion home until 1921 when Harding became president. It was
from this residence that Harding conducted his famous 'front porch' campaign.
In 1920, at the back of the house, the Press House was built for the reporters working during the
front-porch campaign. It has now been transformed into a museum.
A tin Portable Voting Booth sets beside the Press Building at the Harding Home Museum. It as used
during the 1920 election as a way to encourage larger voter turnout.
The impressive white Georgian marble tomb, which holds the remains of President and Mrs. Harding is
two miles from their home.
