Time Travelers (Year-round) (56 k)
This is time-traveling at its best - using primary sources to demonstrate change over time in a dramatic way! Students work in pairs, using reprinted 1899, 1912 and 1919 editions of The Marion Daily Star, all edited by our 29th President, Warren G. Harding. We embark upon a "shopping trip," finding advertisements in the newspapers for household goods and clothing we need to furnish our Victorian-era home. Our 20-year time traveling trip not only familiarizes students with the "modern" gadgets of the early 20th century, but demonstrates how vital newcomers with new businesses are to the growth of a typical small town economy. This program can be presented in your classroom if you are within a 45-mile radius of Marion.

Hail to the Chief (Year-round) (54 k)

Ohio Town (Year-round) (70 k)

Students will meet the townsfolk and also learn a craft. This outreach Program can be presented in your classroom if you are within a 45-mile radius of Marion.

Buckeye Presidents (Year-round) (The eight Ohio presidents are in the spotlight in this program, but it’s hard to keep them straight! Based on a timeline approach, the class, as a group, figures out where each Buckeye president belongs in history. The class then plots each president’s home, gravesite or monument on individual maps of Ohio to put each man in his place in the state. This program is a perfect complement to Get Out the Vote or can stand alone.
