Program: Adena to Go ( 888 k)
This program gives an overview of the Adena Estate and the life of
Thomas Worthington. It illustrates his place in Ohio and U.S. history
during the period 1800-1830. The program includes a PowerPoint
presentation, and hands-on activities. This outreach Program can be
presented in your classroom if you are within a 45-mile radius of
Chillicothe.
Program: From Territory to Statehood
This outreach program depicts the social, political and cultural
implications of the movement of Ohio's people from territory to statehood.
Students will observe the impact on white immigrants, formerly enslaved
individuals and the American Indians that first inhabited the land. Hands-on
activities will allow students to experience some of the communication
skills necessary in the 19th century. The development of the territory into
a state and flavor of the Adena estate is demonstrated in a power point
presentation. This program is available if you are within a 45-mile radius of Chillicothe.
